Ms. Wi’am Ahmed, Executive Director of Alia Publishing House, participated as a jury member for the International Prize for Arabic Children’s Literature, "formerly the Etisalat Prize," alongside a selection of experts in Arabic and international children's literature. The discussions brought together various opinions aimed at developing evaluation criteria and enhancing the quality of content offered to children in the Arab world.
During her participation, Wi’am emphasized the importance of expanding support for chapter books, especially for young readers transitioning gradually from picture books to longer literary works.
This approach is a pivotal step in enhancing children's reading skills in early and middle childhood, and it opens the door for deeper engagement with stories, beyond the scope of pictures and short texts.
